Spring Break | Kyoto | Gion Hatanaka | Breakfast (via Aliaaaaa) This was my massive kyoto-style kaiseki breakfast. The hotpot on the right had tofu in it, which we boiled and added to the sauce on the bottom right with green onions and ginger (very tasty). The bowl next to the hot pot was fried tofu. It was also really good. Below that was some kind of potato thing (pink) - potato noodles I think, and below that miso soup. Then there was a sweetened tofu goo with the green blob on it for desert (I didn’t really dig it). Pickled veggies below that, grilled puffer fish and fish cakes, rice (with little fishes, which are so yummy, eyeballs and all), an unsweetened tofu goo on the top left, and Japanese omelet on the far left. It was a huge breakfast, and very good. The rice was so tasty that I had to have two bowls. :)
